Jacob Schmeidler will begin serving as the Central Kansas District 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent, effective June 12. Central Kansas District has offices in Minneapolis and Salina, Kansas.  Schmeidler’s primary office is in Salina. 

Schmeidler earned his bachelor’s degree in animal sciences from Kansas State University.  He has most recently been employed as a freelance cattle service and sales preparation worker and as a farmhand / partial owner of DaySpring Farms in Hays, Kansas. 

4-H Youth Development Agents develop and deliver educational programs for school-aged youth.  This includes supporting community clubs, out-of-school programs, school enrichment, volunteer management, and outreach to create new program opportunities with new and existing community partners.

Katherine Sundgren will begin serving as the Reno County 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent, effective August 21. Reno County’s office is in South Hutchinson, Kansas.  

Sundgren earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from Kansas State University.  She has most recently been employed as a 4-H extension assistant for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Omaha, Nebraska.
