Benefits Information

The district will provide also Flexible Fringe Benefit Program, Cafeteria Section 125 Salary Reduction option for all employees. Previous fringe benefit amounts are now included in the salary schedule. The Salary Reduction Plan will include the following: (1) Health & Dental Insurance, (2) Cancer Insurance-Occidental Life, and (3) American Fidelity Assurances package to include all the available options. USD 419 Canton-Galva will pay 100 percent of the premium for the $ 6,000 deductible, non-grandfathered, single plan through Blue Cross and Blue Shield, which is $ 613/month for the 2025-26 teacher contract. District employees will also have the option to purchase other plans, from the ESSDACK non-grandfathered plan, but will personally bear the expense over $ 613/month.

Salary Information

Salary schedule and benefits are available on our website, http://www.usd419.org; ’employment’, then ‘negotiated agreement’, Our beginning base (BS+0) is $ 43,000, during the 2025-26 school year. The Agricultural Education teaching position has an extended contract for extra days, and there is also a stipend for FFA sponsorship.

Canton-Galva is a small rural school located in the heart of Kansas. We serve students grades Pre-K – 12 grade. Our grade levels range in size from 16-28 students. The staff at Canton-Galva are a mix of youth and experience but all are hard working, caring individuals who do what is best for the students. They are willing to spend the time and energy that it requires to help students learn. The various committees that teachers serve on are very active and responsible for the success of the students. Both communities are great places to raise children. Our location serves us very well. We are only a short drive to McPherson, Salina, Wichita, Hutchinson, Emporia, Manhattan and only 2.5 hours from Kansas City. The lakes, campgrounds, golf courses, theaters and shopping areas all within a short distance. Hunting,fishing, and other recreational activities are available for those who wish to participate.
