Ashland USD 220 is seeking an enthusiastic Agricultural Education Teacher to join our small, supportive school community beginning August 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and growing Agricultural Education program as our second Ag teacher. The position will have an emphasis in Power, Structure & Technology (PST), complementing our existing program and providing additional opportunities for students through hands-on, career-focused learning.
We encourage Ag educators with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and strengths to apply. While we are specifically looking to expand our Power, Structure & Technology offerings, we understand that candidates bring different areas of expertise and interest. The district is willing to consider the strengths, experience, interests, and licensure pathway of the successful candidate when developing the teaching assignment and continuing to grow the program.
Our Ag Ed/CTE program provides opportunities for hands-on learning across a wide variety of areas, with facilities, equipment, and instructional resources supporting welding, CNC technology, mechanics, woodworking, plant and soil science, rangeland management, and more. As part of a two-teacher program, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to use these resources, collaborate with an experienced Ag educator, expand course offerings, and help shape the future direction of the program around student needs and the strengths of both instructors.
Responsibilities may include:
- Agricultural mechanics, power, structures, and technology coursework
- Hands-on instruction utilizing welding, CNC, mechanics, woodworking, and related technologies
- Agricultural science coursework, including opportunities in plant and soil science, rangeland, and other areas
- Additional agricultural education courses based on student needs and teacher strengths
- Providing meaningful career and technical education experiences
- Sharing responsibilities for FFA and other appropriate Agricultural Education activities as part of a two-teacher program
- Building student interest and participation in Agricultural Education and CTE
- Collaborating with staff, administration, community members, and industry partners to continue developing a strong Ag Ed/CTE program
USD 220 offers small class sizes, a four-day school week, supportive administration and community, and the opportunity for a teacher to have a significant impact on both the program and the students they serve.
Candidates with traditional Kansas licensure, Transition to Teaching eligibility, or other appropriate licensure pathways are encouraged to apply.

Salary per USD 220 salary schedule

Signing Bonus
