Northern Valley Schools has a four-day week school year.
Duties will include teaching HS vocational agriculture classes. We have an up-to-date shop (welding, mechanics, woodworking, etc) attached to our classroom area and a separate greenhouse (eight years old). This is a great opportunity and we look forward to hearing from you.

Salary Information
Base pay is $37,000 plus supplemental for FFA sponsor.

Northern Valley has a four-day week school year. We are a 1A school that serves students in both Norton and Phillips Counties with a current PreK-12 enrollment of 142 students. We have a PreK-4 Elementary and a 9-12 High School in Almena. The 5-8 Middle School is in Long Island. We have a strong tradition of academic excellence and accomplished athletic programs. Makinna Peterson, Wabaunsee County Extension Agent
Makinna Peterson will begin serving as the Wabaunsee County agriculture and natural resources extension agent, effective June 9. Wabaunsee County’s extension office is in Alma, Kansas.
Peterson earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science from Kansas State University. She has most recently been employed as a riding instructor for Hope Ranch Therapeutic Riding Center in Manhattan, Kansas.
Agriculture and natural resources agents develop and deliver educational programming related, but not limited, to agronomic and livestock production; agricultural economics; management and public policy; horticultural production and management; natural resources conservation; and environmental stewardship.
