Clinton Laflin, Greenwood County Extension Agent

Clinton Laflin began serving as the Greenwood County agriculture and natural resources extension agent on Jan 5. Greenwood County’s extension office is in Eureka, Kansas.

Laflin earned both his bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications and animal science and his master’s degree in international agriculture from Oklahoma State University. Dean Ray, Leavenworth County Extension Agent

Dean Ray began serving as the Leavenworth County agriculture and natural resources extension agent on Jan 5. Leavenworth County’s extension office is in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Ray earned his bachelor’s degree in general studies from Pittsburg State University and his master’s degree in agricultural science and extension education from Colorado State University. He was most recently employed as an agronomic independent contractor in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Extension Agent – West Plains District

Madison Colvin to serve as West Plains District extension agent.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Madison Colvin will begin serving as the West Plains District 4-H youth development extension agent, effective Sept 15. West Plains District has extension offices in Garden City and Scott City, Kansas. Colvin’s primary office is in Garden City.

Colvin earned her bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from West Texas A&M University. She has most recently been employed as a graduate assistant for the Texas Youth Livestock and Agriculture department of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in College Station, Texas.

4-H youth development agents develop and deliver educational programs for school-aged youth.  This includes supporting community clubs, out-of-school programs, school enrichment, volunteer management, and outreach to create new program opportunities with new and existing community partners.

Local extension faculty are jointly employed in a partnership between K-State Extension, headquartered on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan, and the local extension board.

The role of K-State Extension is to encourage the adoption of research-based information to improve the quality of life for Kansans. K-State Research and Extension is the short name for the Kansas State University Agricultural Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service.
