JH-HS Agriculture Science Teacher & FFA Sponsor for the 2024-25 school year.

Qualified individuals should possess the following credentials/qualities:

  • Hold a current and appropriate Kansas teaching license or be able to obtain and receive the appropriate initial teaching license.
  • Establish a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, innovative, and student centered.
  • Be involved with teaching and supporting CTE classes.
  • Promote high standards for student performance, positive peer interactions and appropriate social behavior.
  • Work cooperatively with other school personnel and parents/guardians.
  • Adhere to USD 398 Board of Education approved policies and regulations.
  • Be flexible and able to perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal.
  • Maintain and establish effective communication skills with all stakeholders.

Peabody-Burns USD 398 serves approximately 200 PreK-12 students in southern Marion county including the city of Peabody and the city of Burns.  Peabody-Burns Elementary School is a PreK-5 facility located at 506 Elm in Peabody and Peabody-Burns Jr/Sr High School is a 6-12 facility located at 810 North Sycamore in Peabody, Kansas.  USD 398 is committed to educational excellence and strives to meet the needs of its students.  Peabody is located 15 miles northeast of Newton, Kansas on highway 50.  We are approximately 50 miles from Emporia and 35 miles from Wichita.
