Ashley Trout will begin serving as the Thomas County 4-H youth development extension agent, effective June 8. Thomas County’s extension office is in Colby, Kansas.
Trout earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agronomy from Kansas State University. She has most recently been employed as a graduate teaching assistant and graduate research assistant for the Kansas State University Department of Agronomy in Manhattan, Kansas.
4-H youth development agents develop and deliver educational programs for school-aged youth. This includes supporting community clubs, out-of-school programs, school enrichment, volunteer management, and outreach to create new program opportunities with new and existing community partners.
