POSITION TITLE: High School Vocational Agriculture Instructor (Mechanics)
SCHOOL: Labette County High School
SALARY RANGE: Full Time Teacher Contract as per the Negotiated Agreement available online at https://www.usd506.org/vnews/display.v/SEC/Staff%7CNegotiated%20Agreement
CONTRACT LENGTH: Initial contract shall be for the 2023-24 school year
POSITION SUMMARY: The chosen applicant will be a member of a successful & driven three-person Agriculture department. This department has a proven track record at state & national levels in numerous agriculture competitions and has strong community support. In addition to their classroom duties- applicants would be expected to be an active sponsor in preparing students for activities & club meetings- as well as organize & attend events. The successful applicant must be a highly qualified educator endorsed in the assigned teaching area with unique qualifications and skills to create a flexible vocational program and a class environment favorable to the learning and personal growth of all students. This position requires an individual capable of establishing effective rapport with students so as to effectively motivate students to develop skills- attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a solid vocational foundation in accordance with each student’s ability. One who will act in the best interest of every child to establish good relationships with parents- community- and other staff members that can impact the quality of the educational experience for all students.
