Agriculture Teacher – Onaga High School

*Mr. Pitts is pursuing other opportunities.

Onaga USD 322 is currently accepting applications for an agriculture education teacher with a science endorsement at Onaga High School for the 2019-2020 school year.  Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Kansas teaching license in agricultural education and already have or are interested in getting a science endorsement.  The district would pay for the cost of a praxis test for the right candidate.

Onaga High School has a strong FFA chapter and an excellent agriculture education department that delivers a diverse, comprehensive and rigorous curriculum.  We offer agriculture education classes (7-12) in six different pathways:  Power, Structural and Technical Systems; Agricultural Science; Plant Systems; Natural Resources and Environmental Systems; Animal Science; and Agribusiness Systems.

There is some flexibility in agriculture courses taught next school year as enrollment will dictate curricular offerings.  Current class offerings include:  Agriculture Explorations, Animal Science, Horticulture, Ag. Communications and Leadership, Food Science, Agribusiness, Agricultural Mechanics, Advanced Agricultural Mechanics, Ag Structures & Electricity, Agriscience, and Wildlife and Natural Resources Management.  Outside of agriculture courses, there would also be a few lower level science courses taught by this teacher.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong FFA background and interest in fulfilling the three-circle model of classroom/laboratory, FFA and SAE.
