Agriculture Teacher – Haven

* Corineah Williams took the Little River position.

Haven Middle/High School is seeking applicants for an Agriculture/FFA position for the 2019-20 school year.

The program has a few unique pieces that lend itself nicely to a teacher who wants diverse learning environments and hands-on opportunities.  The program owns and manages an approximate 120-acre farm (112 row crop acres with remaining in pasture areas with livestock holding facilities) and will have finished construction on a 24’x36′ greenhouse for use at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year.  The district is also finishing up year 1 of the Gemini II redesign program with most notable elements of internships, built-in PLT time and employability skills training being the focus for next year.

The program offers classes in the Comprehensive Ag, Plant Systems and Power, Structural and Technical Systems Pathways with 13 courses offered based on enrollment, on a yearly rotation to give the most opportunity for students to complete pathways.  FFA program is well established with a community that is supportive of the students and the program.  SAE programs are common with 100% of students having at least one SAE program on record, with a small handful of students who compete for degree and award programs each year.
