9 Month Contract Full-time Position (renewable contract position)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Agriculture Instructor will teach 15 credit hours of classes each semester, fostering a hands-on, student-centered learning environment. The successful candidate will also serve as the sponsor for the Collegiate Farm Bureau, supporting student leadership and professional growth. Key responsibilities include recruiting prospective students, revitalizing the agriculture program, and building strong community and industry connections to enhance student opportunities. A commitment to academic excellence, mentorship, and program innovation is essential. The onsite teaching assignment will include both on-ground and online classes within the Agriculture department. The position is also responsible for division participation, committee and task force service, and individual professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in or with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield; and/or valid/Industry recognized credential in the discipline and/or 2 or more years industry experience in the career/technical field.
LOCATION: Iola, Kansas Campus office location. On-campus hours are required of the position.
SALARY: Salary range $41,00-62,000; based on education and experience.
STARTING DATE: 1/8/2026 Classes begin 1/20/2026

SUMMARY
The Agriculture Instructor will teach all assigned courses and associated activities as related to major subject area. Courses include but are not limited to: Principles of Animal Science, Crop Science, Animal Diseases and Health, Soil Science, Livestock Production, Marketing Farm Products. The instructor will prepare all instructional materials for the various learning activities associated with their major subject area, maintain accurate student records, keep current in the teaching field, recommend pertinent library materials for acquisition to the library, sponsor student and support activities.
Related service activities include recruiting Agriculture scholarship students, actively serving on college committees, attending faculty meetings, assisting student services with regard to recruiting events and current student support, and attending commencement ceremonies.
