Agriculture Education Instructor & FFA Sponsor

USD 306 Southeast of Saline is accepting applications for an Agriculture Education instructor and FFA sponsor for the 2019-2020 school year. The position is full time and includes both Junior High and Senior High courses. The program has three approved CTE pathways in Agriculture Science, Comp Ag,  and Power, Structural and Technical Systems.

Required qualifications include full Kansas licensure as an Agriculture Education teacher, strength in teaching Ag Education courses in the classroom, production shop and greenhouse, and an ability to lead the FFA program. Preferred qualifications include experience with the CTE Pathways program and the ability to integrate a variety of technology tools to enhance student learning.

Southeast of Saline is a 3A high school situated about five miles west of Gypsum, Ks on K-4 Highway (approximately 10 miles southeast of Salina). The campus is a K-12 facility with all district students attending at one location.

This position requires an individual capable of establishing effective rapport with students so as to effectively motivate students to develop skills- attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a solid vocational foundation in accordance with each student’s ability.  One who will act in the best interest of every child to establish good relationships with parents- community- and other staff members that can impact the quality of the educational experience for all students.

Hanover is a small community in Washington County. It lays 10 minutes from Marysville and Washington. It is in the North Central District. Hanover is a 1A School. There are about 12 students per class depending on the class. Classes being taught are Animal Science, Agri-Science, Plant and Soil Science, Welding, Ag Structures, Intro to Ag. There are possibilities of adding Crop Science or Vet Science depending on what you’d be comfortable with. The community is supportive and helps out when needed.
