CREDENTIALS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in an agriculture or related field within two years of hire date.
Experience teaching technical/vocational courses in agriculture preferred.
The ability and willingness to teach via alternative delivery systems including interactivetelevision, internet, and/or other distance education modes.
Knowledge of the agriculture industry.
Competitive meats judging experience and knowledge of collegiate meats judging rules preferred.
Willingness to travel, primarily weekends, with the judging team.
Experience with recruiting preferred.
Strong classroom instruction skills; strong self-motivation; excellent time management andorganizational skills.
Basic computer skills inclusive of familiarity with MS Office Suite.
The ability to develop and maintain effective professional work relationships with a variety ofpeople.
The ability to relate with students personally while maintaining professional relationships.
Valid driver’s license required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and implement classroom instruction; teach 24 credit hours per year.
Coach the Meats Judging Team.
Recruit students interested in majoring in agriculture.
Coordinate fundraising for Meats Judging Booster Club account.
Assist with the coordination of the Ag Barn.
Assist with the coordination of the Aggie Day.
Serve as an ambassador for FSCC and its programs.
Develop strong community relations.

The main FSCC campus is located in historic Fort Scott, Kansas (population: 8,087) approximately two hours south of Kansas City on the border between Kansas and Missouri.  The campus features two fishing lakes, a restored one-room schoolhouse and the Gordon Parks Museum.  The city of Fort Scott is home to the Fort Scott National Historic Site, several museums and easy access to several recreational areas such as Gunn Park, the Woodland Hills Golf Course and Lake Fort Scott.
