Unified School District #220, Ashland Public Schools is small rural district in southwest Kansas. We are located fifty miles south of Dodge City. 

We operate on a four-day school week (Monday-Thursday) and our teachers are on a 166-day contract.  Our district is fiscally sound, and has competitive salary and benefits package.  Our community is very supportive of K-12 education. We have 96% attendance rate and 95-100% graduation rate, and 95% of graduates pursue post-secondary education. Our average class size is about 15 students.

Agriculture Teacher – Pawnee Heights

Part Time Agriculture Instructor

Pawnee Heights school district located in Rozel, Ks is looking for a part time Agriculture instructor. The responsibilities include teaching one class of Ag Mechanics, one class of Ag Welding, one class of Introduction to Agriculture daily, in addition to supervising any ag internships and being the FFA sponsor. The hours would be from 12:30 – 3:30 daily which includes a planning period. 

Salary Information

The salary would be determined by identifying what three hours of pay daily is based on the applicant’s placement on the 2026-2027 salary schedule. The current base salary for the 2025-2026 school year is $44,676. An additional stipend would be added for FFA sponsor duties.

9 Month Contract Full-time Position (renewable contract position) 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Agriculture Instructor will teach 15 credit hours of classes each semester, fostering a hands-on, student-centered learning environment. The successful candidate will also serve as the sponsor for the Collegiate Farm Bureau, supporting student leadership and professional growth. Key responsibilities include recruiting prospective students, revitalizing the agriculture program, and building strong community and industry connections to enhance student opportunities. A commitment to academic excellence, mentorship, and program innovation is essential. The onsite teaching assignment will include both on-ground and online classes within the Agriculture department. The position is also responsible for division participation, committee and task force service, and individual professional development.

 QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in or with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield; and/or valid/Industry recognized credential in the discipline and/or 2 or more years industry experience in the career/technical field.

 LOCATION: Iola, Kansas Campus office location. On-campus hours are required of the position.

 SALARY: Salary range $41,00-62,000; based on education and experience. 

 STARTING DATE: 1/8/2026  Classes begin 1/20/2026
