Extension Agent – Flint Hills District

Ron Smith will begin serving as the Flint Hills District 4-H youth development extension agent, effective May 13. Flint Hills District has offices in Cottonwood Falls and Council Grove, Kansas.  Smith’s primary office is in Council Grove.

Smith earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from Kansas State University.  He has most recently been employed as an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Linn High School in Linn, Kansas.

Extension Agent – Grant County

Lakin Cherry will begin serving as the Grant County agriculture and natural resources extension agent, effective Jan. 7. Grant County’s office is in Ulysses, Kansas. 

Cherry earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications and journalism as well as animal sciences and industry from Kansas State University. Extension Agent – Pratt County

Jenna Fitzsimmons will begin serving as the Pratt County agriculture and natural resources extension agent, effective Jan. 7. Pratt County’s office is in Pratt, Kansas.  

Fitzsimmons earned her bachelor’s degree in animal sciences from Fort Hays State University. She has most recently been employed as a program technician for the USDA Farm Service Agency in Pratt, Kansas.

Extension Agent – Chisholm Trail District

Bret Toews will begin serving as the Chisholm Trail District agriculture and natural resources extension agent, effective Jan. 7. Chisholm Trail District has offices in Abilene and Marion, Kansas. Toews’s primary office is in Marion. 

Toews earned his bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Kansas State University. He has most recently been employed as an agricultural loan officer and crop insurance agent for The Citizens State Bank in Canton, Kansas.
