Extension Agent – McPherson County

Laura Savage, McPherson County Extension Agent

Laura Savage will begin serving as the McPherson County 4-H youth development extension agent, effective June 9. McPherson County’s extension office is in McPherson, Kansas.

Savage earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Tabor College.  She has most recently been employed as a co-owner of the Mud Creek Cattle Company in Florence, Kansas.

4-H youth development agents develop and deliver educational programs for school-aged youth.  This includes supporting community clubs, out-of-school programs, school enrichment, volunteer management, and outreach to create new program opportunities with new and existing community partners.

Extension Agent – Harvey County

Alex Acheson, Harvey County Extension Agent

Alex Acheson will begin serving as the Harvey County agriculture and natural resources extension agent, effective June 9. Harvey County’s extension office is in Newton, Kansas.

Acheson earned his bachelor’s degree in animal sciences and industry from Kansas State University.  He has most recently been employed as the director of producer relations for U.S. CattleTrace Inc. in Wichita, Kansas.

Agriculture and natural resources agents develop and deliver educational programming related, but not limited, to agronomic and livestock production; agricultural economics; management and public policy; horticultural production and management; natural resources conservation; and environmental stewardship.
