USD 305 is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Agriculture Education Instructor/FFA Advisor to lead and grow a developing program at Salina Central High School. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while expanding opportunities for students in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Salina Central’s Agriculture Education program serves students from both Salina Central and Salina South High School, with transportation provided. This creates a diverse student base and allows for strong program growth and outreach.
Program & Courses
The selected candidate will teach a variety of agriculture courses, including:
● Introduction to Agriculture
● Animal Science
● Advanced Animal Science
● Metals I (shared program – full-time metals instructor on staff)
● NEW (2026–2027): Agriculture Communication & Leadership
FFA Chapter & Program Opportunity
The Salina FFA Chapter currently has approximately 45 members and continues to show strong potential for growth. This position is ideal for an educator who is excited to:
● Grow FFA membership and involvement
● Develop new CDE teams and leadership opportunities
● Build community partnerships
● Bring fresh ideas to expand the program
Salina is a 5A school located in central Kansas and serves as a regional hub for agriculture, education, and industry, providing excellent opportunities for program development and student experiences.
Position Responsibilities
● Teach assigned agriculture courses using engaging, hands-on instruction
● Serve as FFA Advisor, including supervision of activities, contests, and events
● Create a positive, inclusive classroom and lab environment
● Collaborate with staff, administration, and community partners
● Maintain accurate records and student progress
● Uphold district policies and professional expectations
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education or related field
● Current or ability to obtain Kansas teaching licensure in Agriculture
● Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
